Service interruption via unthrottled autoconfiguration requests
Published Nov 21, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SSRF in the Nextcloud Mail account-setup endpoints allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through repeated server-side requests. AutoConfigController exposes queryIspdb, queryMx, and testConnectivity without rate limits, allowing repeated DNS lookups and connection attempts against attacker-selected domains or hosts. Exploitation requires a low-privileged session and user interaction, and the published consequence is limited to service availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
