Remote command execution via missing form-token validation
Published Nov 20, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
CSRF in XWiki Contrib Admin Tools Application 4.4 through 4.5.0 allows remote attackers to execute shell commands through a crafted URL. Admin.RunShellCommand passes the request's command parameter to sh -c without first validating a CSRF form token; its response also renders command output as XWiki syntax. Exploitation requires an administrator with programming rights to view attacker-controlled content, enabling server command execution and possible Groovy execution in the XWiki context.
