Authenticated code execution via unchecked routername copy
Published Jul 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stack overflow in Realtek rtl819x Jungle SDK 3.4.11 formDnsv6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. set_DnsParam passes the unbounded routername request value to strcpy, overwriting the routerName member of formDnsv6's stack-resident DNS configuration structure. Administrative access and a preliminary DNSv6 page request are required; a crafted form submission can crash Boa or overwrite execution control data.
