CVE-2023-48257Network attack vector

Root code execution via weak package credentials

Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Weak credential use in Bosch Rexroth NEXO-OS V1000-Release through V1500-SP2 allows attackers to read exports or execute code. Bosch identifies weak credentials in the export and import package path but does not disclose the credential derivation or validation logic. Authenticated users can trigger the flaw with crafted HTTP requests; unauthenticated attackers need an existing export or must induce an authenticated user to upload an import, after which code runs as root.
