CVE-2023-48220Network attack vector

Expired invitation acceptance via password reset

Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 24, 2025

Invitation expiry bypass in affected Decidim releases allows remote authenticated users to accept expired invites through password reset. The devise_invitable password-reset path accepts a pending invitation without checking its age against the configured invite_for period. The user must control password-reset access for an invited account; successful use activates that account after Decidim's two-week invitation window.
