Cross-organization privilege escalation via faulty RBAC evaluation
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2026
Privilege escalation in Grafana Enterprise allows remote authenticated users to alter role permissions across organizations through the web API. The RBAC permission evaluator incorrectly authorizes cross-organization role and role-assignment updates using organization-scoped admin authority. Exploitation requires Organization Admin access and multiple organizations; it cannot create memberships in unrelated organizations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
