Cookie theft via stored equipment description XSS

Published Nov 15, 2023 · Updated Sep 29, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in Grocy 4.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to steal another user's cookies through an equipment description. The equipment description accepts attacker-controlled script markup, and /equipment renders the stored value in another user's browser without effective neutralization. A low-privileged account must save the description and a victim must view the affected equipment page; the reported impact is cookie disclosure and page-context script execution.
