CVE-2023-48194Public exploit

Unauthenticated crash via SetNetControlList memory corruption

Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Tenda AC8v4 firmware 16.03.34.09 allows remote attackers to crash the router via SetNetControlList. The endpoint passes an oversized list value to set_client_qos, where sscanf writes a null byte beyond s8 and corrupts the saved gp register. The request requires no credentials or user interaction; the published proof of concept demonstrates a process crash and register corruption, not arbitrary code execution.
