Blocked-command execution through executable scripts

Published Nov 28, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

A disputed command-filter bypass in JumpServer 3.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to run blocked commands through executable scripts. The bastion host filters commands typed into an input stream but does not inspect equivalent commands saved in interpreted or compiled files before execution. The behavior requires authorized access to a managed asset, and JumpServer disputes that it is a vulnerability because such users already have permission to execute files.
