Engine crash via mis-scoped eval this binding
Published Apr 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in QuickJS before c4cdd61 allows attackers to crash the engine by executing crafted JavaScript containing eval. The add_eval_variables function fails to preserve lexical-variable state, causing an arrow function's this binding to reach build_for_in_iterator as a non-object that is dereferenced. Execution of attacker-controlled JavaScript is required; triggering the flaw interrupts the embedding process without reported data disclosure or modification.
