Authenticated privilege escalation via nil admin lookup
Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Missing authentication in Apache Answer before 1.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to access administrative functions. The AdminAuth middleware accepts a nil result from GetAdminUserCacheInfo whenever the lookup returns no error, so the request continues without an authenticated administrator. A valid low-privilege session can therefore cross the administrator gate and reach functions that read or modify protected application data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
