CVE-2023-4814

Protected-file deletion via log-folder junction

Published Sep 14, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024

Privilege escalation in Trellix Data Loss Prevention Endpoint for Windows 11.10.100.17 allows local users to delete protected files. Its log cleanup follows an attacker-created directory junction inside the DLP logs folder and deletes linked content outside that tree. Low-privileged local access is required; deletion can affect files or folders that the account otherwise cannot remove.
