Stored XSS via unsanitized redirectlink shortcode attribute
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored XSS in Iptanus File Upload before 4.23.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted shortcode. The redirectlink attribute accepts a javascript: URL and supplies it to the post-upload browser redirect without sanitizing or escaping it. Contributor-level access to add crafted shortcode content and a visitor who completes an upload are required, exposing that visitor's browser session to script execution.
