Authenticated code execution via unchecked GLUE update
Published Nov 15, 2023 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
Improper authorization in xuxueli XXL-JOB 2.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through jobcode/save. The endpoint stores attacker-supplied GLUE source for a running job without checking the user's job privileges, and an executor compiles or launches that source when the job runs. Any authenticated low-privilege account that can reach the admin interface can replace scheduled job code, leading to command execution with the executor process's permissions.
