Information disclosure via static AES-CBC initialization vector

Published Nov 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 12, 2024

Information disclosure in Archery 1.10.0 allows remote attackers to expose encrypted information and communications via network access. The AES-CBC encryption routine reuses a non-random or static initialization vector instead of generating an unpredictable value for each encryption. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the reported consequence is limited to confidentiality loss.
