Application crash via stale sample buffer reuse
Published Nov 15, 2023 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
Double free in GPAC 2.3-DEV-rev566-g50c2ab06f-master allows context-dependent attackers to crash MP4Box via a crafted media file. The ISO file reader reuses a static sample without clearing its allocation metadata, causing packet teardown to free storage already released during sample retrieval. Processing the file with MP4Box's DASH operation is required, and the published reproducer terminates the process under AddressSanitizer.
