Administrator takeover via unescaped username attribute
Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stored XSS in channelBody.php in WWBN AVideo 11.6 and dev master commit 15fed957fb allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. The page inserts User::_getName() into an img alt attribute after setName() applies strip_tags, which leaves quote-delimited event handlers intact. A registered user must save a crafted name and induce a victim to open that user's channel; execution in an administrator session can enable account takeover.
