Arbitrary file upload via image-paste handler
Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in WP Githuber MD 1.16.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place executable files on servers. The admin_githuber_image_paste() AJAX handler preserves the attacker-supplied extension and moves the upload without restricting file types. Author-level WordPress access and the Image Paste module are required; an uploaded server-side script can run as a backdoor.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
