Remote code execution via default SQL administrator password
Published Nov 10, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Natus NeuroWorks and SleepWorks before 8.4 GMA3 allow remote attackers to execute code through Microsoft SQL Server. The applications configure the MSSQL sa account with the fixed password xltek, exposing administrative queries and operating-system commands. Network access to the database service is sufficient to read or alter clinical data, write files, execute commands, or interrupt MSSQL.
