CVE-2023-47798Network attack vector

Account-lockout bypass via retained user sessions

Published Feb 8, 2024 · Updated May 15, 2025

Session invalidation failure in Liferay Portal 7.2.0 through 7.3.0 and DXP 7.2 before fix pack 5 lets remote authenticated users retain access. The account-lockout path marks the account locked but does not invalidate its existing authenticated sessions. Remote authenticated users must already control a live session; that session continues to authorize requests after an administrator locks the account.
