Stored XSS via unescaped gallery shortcode attributes
Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Plugin Planet User Submitted Posts 20230811 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via usp_gallery. The usp_gallery shortcode accepts attributes such as before without sufficient input sanitization and emits them into generated page markup without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload; the script executes when a visitor opens the affected page.
