CVE-2023-47741

Password disclosure via residual browser memory

Published Dec 18, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Credential exposure in affected IBM platform and database-mirroring releases allows physically proximate attackers to read passwords. The web clients for system navigation, certificate management, and database mirroring retain clear-text passwords in browser process memory until garbage collection. Access to the victim's PC and process-inspection tools is required; exposed credentials grant access to the affected server environment without altering data or interrupting service.
