Improper permissions in IBM Security Guardium 11.3, 11.4, 11.5, and 12.0 allow local users to escalate from tomcat to root. The permission controls on the ip_restriction.pl and server_receiver.pl scripts allow code in the tomcat context to obtain root-level execution. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful exploitation grants full control over the Guardium appliance.
