Spoofed data acceptance via unvalidated replication certificate
Published Feb 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024
Improper certificate validation in IBM Storage Virtualize 8.6 allows remote attackers to supply spoofed data through a trusted-system connection. The management GUI fails to correctly validate the remote system certificate when a policy-based replication partnership is configured. Exploitation requires an attacker to present a malicious replication host, causing the server to treat its data as coming from a trusted system.
