Router reboot via page-load CSRF bypass

Published Jul 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

CSRF in the Boa web server in Realtek rtl819x Jungle SDK 3.4.11 allows remote attackers to reboot affected routers via crafted HTML. Boa authorizes a management API after its corresponding form page loads, without validating the request origin or requiring an anti-CSRF token. A victim must visit attacker-controlled HTML while the browser can supply router credentials; the demonstrated request invokes formSysCmd and reboots the router.
