Authenticated file read, deletion, and SSRF via imagePath
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated May 22, 2025
Server-side request forgery and file access in advplyr Audiobookshelf 2.4.3 and earlier allow remote authenticated users to read or delete files. AuthorController.update accepts an unsanitized imagePath, fetches HTTP URLs into an author image, or trusts local paths that the image route serves and removal logic deletes. Update permission is required; successful requests expose local or fetched content and delete a selected server file.
