Root command execution via unsanitized policy time parameter
Published Feb 6, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
OS command injection in TP-Link ER7206 1.3.0 build 20230322 Rel.70591 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The uhttpd web-filtering handler passes the policy time parameter to a shell command without sanitizing shell metacharacters. Administrative access to the HTTP management interface is required, and successful exploitation yields unrestricted root shell access on the router.
