Local privilege escalation to manufacturer level
Published Nov 10, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper privilege management in Telit Cinterion cellular modules allows local users with low privileges to gain manufacturer-level access. Kaspersky ICS CERT does not disclose the affected firmware component or the operation that incorrectly grants this privilege. Exploitation requires low-privileged local code execution on the module, and the documented consequence is escalation to manufacturer level.
