CVE-2023-47542

Local code execution via crafted templates

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 26, 2025

Server-side template injection in Fortinet FortiManager allows local users with high privileges to execute unauthorized code or commands. Crafted templates retain special elements that the template engine interprets as executable directives; Fortinet has not identified a narrower function or subsystem. Exploitation requires local access and no user interaction, and successful execution can compromise appliance data, configuration, and availability.
