Stored XSS via unsanitized plugin settings
Published Dec 21, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Edit Username 1.0.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through plugin settings. The settings handler stores administrator-supplied values without sufficient input sanitization, and the settings page renders them without adequate output escaping. Administrator access is required to plant the payload, and a privileged user must later open the affected page for the script to run in that user's browser.
