Contributor-level attachment disclosure via missing capability check

Published Apr 24, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Missing authorization in Elementor Website Builder 3.16.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary attachment files. The get_inline_svg function accepts an attachment ID without a capability check, reads the associated file, and returns its raw contents. Contributor-level access is sufficient on a default installation, exposing files stored as WordPress media attachments.
