CVE-2023-4744Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unbounded DevName copy

Published Sep 3, 2023 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8 16.03.34.06_cn_TDC01 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted DevName. formSetDeviceName accepts DevName without a length check and passes it to set_device_name, where sprintf copies it into a fixed-size stack buffer. The HTTP handler requires no privileges or user interaction; successful exploitation can obtain a root shell, while the published proof of concept demonstrates a crash.
