Authentication bypass via static-resource substring matching
Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Improper access control in Tenda TX9, AX3, AX9, and AX12 firmware allows remote attackers to bypass web authentication using a crafted URL. R7WebsSecurityHandler in /usr/sbin/httpd uses substring matching for public static-resource names, so an appended query string makes any endpoint appear public. Management-interface access is sufficient on TX9 22.03.02.54, AX3 16.03.12.11, AX9 22.03.01.46, and AX12 22.03.01.46, exposing protected router functions without credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
