Stored script execution via profile-picture upload
Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Microweber CMS before 2.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via a profile-picture upload. The Livewire profile forms accept attacker-controlled photo files and expose the stored profile image to browser rendering without neutralizing active markup. A low-privileged account and another user's viewing of the stored image are required; the script can read or alter data available to that browser session.
