Administrator takeover via incompletely sanitized messages
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Silverpeas Core 6.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript when a recipient opens a crafted message. The message filter blocks script tags but stores other event-handler markup in the content field, which is rendered without complete HTML sanitization. Any user can send the payload to an administrator; viewing it runs in that administrator's browser and can grant the sender administrative access.
