Unauthenticated message disclosure via unchecked ownership
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Broken access control in Silverpeas Core 6.3.1 allows remote attackers to read other users' messages by changing a message ID. The ReadMessage endpoint passes the requested ID to message retrieval without verifying that the current user owns the corresponding received or sent notification. Sequential identifiers expose messages belonging to ordinary users and administrators without authentication or user interaction.
