Administrator escalation via forged userModify request
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
CSRF in Silverpeas Core before 6.3.2 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator privileges through a forged userModify request. The endpoint accepts a cross-origin GET containing the attacker's user ID, last name, access level, and security token, then applies it under an administrator's session. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit an attacker-hosted page, which automatically promotes the attacker's existing account.
