Authenticated file disclosure via unvalidated upload path
Published Nov 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Directory traversal in Headwind MDM Web Panel 5.22.1 allows remote authenticated users to relocate and download arbitrary server files. During file upload, the panel accepts an absolute path parameter for the temporary source file and moves that path into its downloadable files directory without validation. A valid panel account and access to the upload API are required; exploitation discloses the selected file and removes it from its original location.
