Unauthenticated code execution via exposed database credentials
Published Dec 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Remote code execution in Dokmee ECM 7.4.6 allows remote attackers to execute commands through an exposed setup workflow. The GettingStarted/SaveSQLConnectionAsync response returns a privileged SQL Server connection string after license validation is bypassed or its response is manipulated. Unauthenticated access to the web setup route and network access to SQL Server let attackers authenticate, enable xp_cmdshell, and execute server commands.
