Cross-site scripting via unsandboxed inline thumbnails
Published Nov 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Redmine before 4.2.11 and 5.0.x before 5.0.6 allows remote attackers to run script via thumbnail responses. The attachment and repository controllers served files inline without a restrictive Content Security Policy, allowing active content to execute rather than remain isolated. A user must open the crafted thumbnail; successful execution can read or alter data available to that user's Redmine browser session.
