Browser script execution via improper string processing
Published Nov 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Redmine's Textile formatter before 4.2.11 and in 5.0.0 through 5.0.5 allows remote attackers to execute script. The formatter processes attacker-controlled character strings without the neutralization needed to prevent executable markup. The attack requires a user to view crafted formatted content, and its reported effect is arbitrary script execution in that user's browser.
