CVE-2023-47250Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-user desktop takeover via insecure X11 sockets

Published Nov 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Broken access control in mprivacy-tools before 2.0.406g for m-privacy TightGate-Pro Server allows remote authenticated users to control other desktops. Shared X11 server sockets under /home/tmpdir/tmp510/.X11-unix grant normal users read and write access, so a chosen DISPLAY ID targets another session. Access to a VNC session is required; exploitation can inject keystrokes, display phishing prompts, and capture another user’s input.
