Stored XSS via unescaped border-width setting
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored XSS in Simple Posts Ticker before 1.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted border width. The Styles settings handler stores Ticker Border Width without sanitization, and the page renders it into an HTML attribute without escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and exploitation also requires a user to revisit the settings page, exposing that user's browser session data or page actions.
