CVE-2023-47249Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service crash via misordered XML buffer check

Published Nov 4, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024

An out-of-bounds read in DemoIccMAX 79ecb74 allows remote attackers to crash iccFromXML by supplying a crafted ICC XML file. The unsigned-short CIccXmlArrayType::ParseText loop evaluates *szText before checking n against the 4,096-byte buffer size, so it dereferences one byte past the allocation at the boundary. Exploitation requires a user to make iccFromXML process the crafted file and interrupts that process without reported data disclosure or modification.
