CVE-2023-47218Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via uploaded filename

Published Feb 13, 2024 · Updated May 7, 2025

OS command injection in QNAP QTS 5.1.x, QuTS hero h5.1.x, and QuTScloud c5.x allows remote attackers to execute commands via HTTP. The uploaf_firmware_image routine places a URL-decoded multipart filename inside an update_fw shell command and passes it to system without neutralizing embedded quotes. No authentication or user interaction is required when quick.cgi is network-accessible, and successful exploitation runs commands with administrative privileges.
