SYSTEM code execution via unvalidated command origins
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
Origin validation error in Trend Micro Apex One 2019 and SaaS agents allows local users to execute code with SYSTEM privileges. The Apex One Client Plug-in Service Manager, CNTAoSMgr, accepts commands without sufficiently validating their origin. Exploitation requires existing low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows endpoint and yields arbitrary code execution as SYSTEM.
