SYSTEM code execution via unvalidated command origins
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025
Origin validation in Trend Micro Apex One Security Agent allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM on affected Windows endpoints. The Apex One NT Listener service accepts commands without adequately validating their origin, allowing a low-privileged process to submit trusted-service commands. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution on the endpoint and yields arbitrary code execution in the SYSTEM context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
