Local privilege escalation via unvalidated command origin
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Origin validation error in Trend Micro Apex One agents before 14.0.0.12526 or 14.0.12737 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. The Apex One NT Listener service accepts commands without adequately validating their origin, allowing a low-privileged process to supply trusted-service commands. Exploitation requires existing low-privileged code execution on a Windows endpoint and results in complete control under the SYSTEM account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
