Open redirect via custom-scheme denylist
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Open redirect in Mattermost 7.8.12, 8.1.3, 9.0.1, and 9.1.0 allows remote attackers to redirect users through a crafted link. RenderMobileError parses redirect_to but rejects only three exact schemes, then places every other scheme in the Back to Mattermost link. No account is required, but a configured OAuth service must reach the mobile error page and a user must click the link, which can launch an attacker-chosen URL handler.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
