Remote code execution via unsafe CDbCriteria wakeup
Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
Unsafe deserialization in Yii before 1.1.29 allows remote attackers to execute code when an application unserializes arbitrary input. The CDbCriteria::__wakeup method passes attacker-controlled non-scalar SQL-field values to strtr(), which coerces objects to strings and invokes their magic methods. Exploitation requires an application path that feeds attacker-controlled serialized data to unserialize(); successful object injection compromises the host process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
